Capitol Development’s founders and Principals are Larry Walshaw and Jim Brady. Larry and Jim have successfully owned and operated Business Condos USA for several years. Business Condos USA has been a pioneer in the development and sale of business condominiums (retail, flex, office and warehouse), and under its banner Larry and Jim have developed over 1.5 million square feet of commercial space since 2003. Under their leadership, Business Condos USA has, in addition, garnered numerous awards citing the company’s innovation and product quality from various industry groups.
The expansion of our current activities to include the development of large scale commercial properties represented a return to our roots in that we have been involved with major development projects for more than 30 years. Capitol Development is currently involved in 5 major projects. They are The Gateway Centre in Smyrna, TN, The Creekside Shoppes in Hendersonville, TN, The Marketplace at Apollo Beach in the Tampa, FL MSA, The Mayfield Commerce Center in Orange Park, FL, The Lakeside Promenade at World Golf Village in St Augustine, FL. The combined value of these current projects exceeds $106,000,000. These projects involve nearly 100 acres of prime commercial land and over 500,000 square feet of vertical construction in five different areas of the Southeast. Capitol Development’s success in the planning and execution of such projects is powered by several key aspects of its business; experience, integrity and hard work are the qualities we strive to express in our business relationships. These qualities serve to assure those whom the company serves – its tenants, clients and investors – of quality results in terms of the finished product, and the company’s ability to deliver it on time and within its economic expectations.

Another key factor is Capitol Development’s engagement of the highest quality professionals to execute our various projects for us. These include such firms as The Stellar Group (http://www.thestellargroup.com). Stellar is a fully integrated firm focused on design, engineering, construction and mechanical services worldwide. It is one of the largest such firms in the United States. Ebert, Norman and Brady Architects, H. Michael Hindman Architects, and Skiles and Davis Engineering provide Capitol Development International with the highest levels of professionalism in the industry.
